We just released a couple new features that will give you more power and flexibility to develop an intake system that fits with your firm's unique practice style and existing workflows.
Custom Matter Statuses
We now allow you to create custom statuses for matters. This will provide greater flexibility to create a customized intake system. For instance, if you want to keep track of cases that were referred out, or differentiate between matters where the client decided not to hire you vs. a situation where you turned the client away, you will now be able to do that.
Each custom matter status has a "type" which corresponds to one of the three existing statuses: In Progress, Hired, Did Not Hire.
Think of custom matter statuses like a "sub-class" of one of these three broad statuses.
In order to create a custom matters status, you just go into your Settings and click on the Matters tab. Then click the "New Matter Status" link, input the name of the status, and select the type. This custom status will now be available to you on the matter pages or the index of all matters.
More Powerful Matter Filtering
Along with the custom matter statuses, we also built a better filtering system to sift through all your matters.
You can use the filters from the View All Matters page. There are three different categories:
- Matter Status - the current status of the matter, including custom statuses
- Matter Type - the type of matter that it is
- Assigned To - who in the firm is currently assigned to this matter
You can filter with any combination of choices from these three categories, enabling you to have more power and control over your data.
